The Bell Jar is the one novel written by the poet Sylvia Plath. While there, she describes her depression as a feeling of being trapped underneath a bell jar , struggling for breath. Recognized primarily for her poetry, Plath also wrote a semi-autobiographical novel, The Bell Jar, under the pseudonym Victoria Lucas.
